For much of my life, I didn't feel like I was in the driver's seat - I felt like life was happening to me. Deep down I knew that I was meant to live a life full of fulfillment and freedom, but I felt like I was ticking boxes rather than living my own life. Even when I tried to show up perfectly, I didn't feel accomplished. I was a straight A student, got into a good college, and was a high performer at my corporate job, but something still felt...off.
I felt like I was putting on a performance rather than showing up as my full self, and I felt constantly worried that everyone around me would see the reality playing out behind the scenes - I was anxious, unsure of myself, and although I was "working on myself," I wasn't seeing a change in my day to day reality.
Even through my attempts at pushing them down, my emotions were expressing in uncomfortable, uncontrollable ways. I felt constantly tense, would lash out at the people close to me, and would get stuck in periods of overwhelm where I felt like I could cry for days.
I had been in therapy for years, and I felt that I had learned a lot there, but even though I knew all the reasons behind my reactions...I couldn't get myself to actually change.
I wanted to show up in a room without worrying that everyone's eyes were on me, or make a mistake at work without feeling that the world was going to come crashing down. Therapy was helping me understand myself, but it wasn't helping me change.
That's when I started to tune into my body through somatic experiencing techniques, and created habits and routines that actually supported the type of life I wanted to step into.
It was like unlocking a secret code! Mindset + Emotional work + Practical tools = sustainable change.
From this knowledge, I developed a highly effective toolbox so I could help other people help themselves.
I see my coaching style as a happy medium - You need someone to hold you accountable and create a step-by-step action plan? Great, I love to do that work. You need someone to hold compassionate, loving space for you when you have big emotions coming to the surface? Great, I love that too!
I'm truly here for all of it, because meeting people where they're at is my superpower. Being a person who is both emotional and practical, I can understand the issues at the core of what’s showing up on the surface, and work with you to create a plan for accomplishing what you want to achieve.
I don’t believe I have all the answers for you, and you should be wary of anyone who claims to be able to heal you. Only you can heal yourself. What I can do is give you the tools and the support to know yourself and trust yourself, so you can go beyond fear to live out your true purpose. We each have something unique and beautiful to share - we just have to figure out how to access it.
As a Certified Professional Life Coach, I have completed extensive training in areas such as positive self-talk, developing a growth mindset, overcoming fear, the elements of powerful decision making and creating lasting change, and NLP techniques. I am committed to my own ongoing professional development, and I love to share what I learn with my clients.
As a certified Certified Women's Guidance Facilitator, my training gave me the practical tools to hold healing spaces for women, create community circles, and develop intentional ceremonies, with the goal of empowering women through supportive community.
When you come together with a coach, you're not starting at zero - you're bringing a rich history and a lifetime of experiences. We want to use all of this to our advantage! Understanding where you've been and who you are now is key to identifying where you want to go.
Some people come to me with a clear vision of where they want to be, and some people come to me because they have no idea what's next. In both cases, we will get clear on your ideal outcome so we can celebrate your wins and ensure we're charting a path that is aligned with your goals.
You don't need a coach to tell you what to do all the time. You want someone who can show you how to support yourself. My coaching style provides you with a toolbox that you can use long after we stop working together.
